sachavonkarl74 Blasphemy :) this Polish black-metal band is like Enigma, with eastern / Orthodox liturgical black-metal atmosphere! This is very original and a fingerprint of this courageous band to establish a mix-and-match that may surprise. BM is all about violent imagery, shocking lyrics, and anti-religious hymns, but Batushka is here to show that the two antithesis can co-exist without annihilation. Nice end-result. Not my daily pill, but nevertheless worth coming back to this BM yin and yang.

Jarak Y'know, if they spent their services playing this sort of music, I might be tempted to attend an Orthodox mass once in a while—despite atheism.

La traversée du désert n'aura pas duré quarante jours mais quatre longues années... Avec Панихида, Батюшка renaît enfin de ses cendres et, bien que désormais seul (ou plus exactement entouré de deux chanteurs), Христофор accomplit un miracle. Il s'inscrit dans la continuité de Литоургиiа avec un black metal orthodoxe qui nous convie ici à une cérémonie dédiée aux morts. Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork. Not for nothing is Mgla considered as a standard for a lot of other blacker-than-black metal bands. I hope to see this band live once..... grote_smurf
